BTI Siddur is a free, nonprofit app for displaying Jewish prayer texts. We are committed to being straightforward about what data we collect, why, and how it is handled. We do not sell data. We do not advertise. We do not track you.
BTI Siddur is operated by Beit Tefilah Israeli, a progressive Jewish congregation. The app is provided free of charge as a community resource. Contact us at esteban@btfila.org.
The main prayer-text viewer requires no login and collects no personal information. All preferences are stored locally on your device only and are never transmitted to us. This includes:
This data lives entirely in your device's local storage. We cannot see it, access it, or recover it if you clear your app data or uninstall the app.
The Siddur Studio is a separate section of the app used by service leaders to plan prayer services. It requires signing in with a Google account. When you sign in, we store:
We do not store your name, profile photo, contacts, or any other information from your Google account. We do not read your Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google service.
Your saved lineups (the list of prayers, with optional notes, melodies, and service metadata) are stored in our database linked to your email address.
The Siddur Studio uses Google Sign-In to authenticate users. When you sign in, Google shares your email address with us. Google's own privacy policy governs what Google collects on their side: policies.google.com/privacy.
Our prayer text database and user lineup data are hosted on Supabase, a managed database platform. Supabase stores your email address and saved lineups on our behalf: supabase.com/privacy.
The app is hosted on Vercel. Like any web hosting provider, Vercel's servers receive standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, requested URL) when you load the app. These are managed by Vercel and we do not access them: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
The only personal data we hold is the email address of Siddur Studio users. We use it for one purpose only: to let you save and retrieve your own service lineups. We do not use it to contact you, market to you, or share it with anyone.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third party, except as necessary to operate the app (Supabase for database hosting, Google for authentication).
Your saved lineups and associated email address remain in our database as long as you use the Siddur Studio. To request deletion, email esteban@btfila.org and we will remove it promptly.
BTI Siddur is a general-audience app displaying religious texts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Siddur Studio is intended for adult service leaders.
Your lineup data is stored in a secured database with access controls. Communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
If you have a Siddur Studio account, you have the right to request a copy, correction, or deletion of your data. Email esteban@btfila.org.
If we make significant changes, we will update the effective date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
